Long before it held a reflection, the substantial timber of this frame stood as a doorway in India, serving as a quiet threshold for decades of daily life. Repurposed from original architectural salvage, this piece carries the legacy of traditional, time-honored artisanship into the present day.
The Craftsmanship Every inch of the frame speaks to the dedication of the hands that originally shaped it. Deeply recessed, trailing floral motifs are carefully intertwined with intricate geometric borders, creating a rhythmic and highly detailed relief across the wood. Embedded within these carvings are the original, hand-forged iron studs—once functional elements meant to fortify a heavy wooden door, they now serve as rugged, grounded counterpoints to the delicate botanical designs.
