This not only reduces shear in every direction but greatly increases user comfort. Edge to Edge The full ActiveFloat™ layer provides edge to edge support for users eliminating ridges and increasing pressure redistribution area. Three Layer Construction One piece U shape firm XP Support Foam base and side wall support with medium feel lateral castellated foam inlay. Designed especially to reduce roll-out risk and bed falls. ActiveFloat™ Layer Our latest technology is an extremely elastic and highly breathable material designed to move in every direction even after full compression. This not only reduces shear in every direction but increases user comfort. Zerotec Cover Zerotec fabric is a medical barrier fabric that has high elasticity in every direction which reduces shear on pressure redistribution surfaces. It is waterproof and wipeable but has microporous breathable properties. This cover has welded seams and waterfall flaps for fluid control. SlideSkin™ Anti-Shear The unique composition of SlideSkin™ technology reduces shear with a second membrane. This enables the cover to move or slide with the users movements.

Feels luxurious and silky soft! It is not very thick but does keep me very warm. In fact I have to kick my legs out sometimes when I’m using it. It does shed A LOT! Will need to update after washing to see if that reduces the shedding. But it is beautiful and comfy. Is give it a 7 out of 10 for quality because of the shedding and the top and underneath pieces are only secured on the edges, which makes it move around and I have to grab the edges and shake to get its form back to normal. I would definitely purchase again. Especially if the shedding reduces it goes away after I run it through a wash cycle. I do NOT recommend drying in the dryer. It will mat I can almost guarantee that. Almost all blankets like these do if you dry them in a dryer with heat. Maybe no heat tumble might work, but NO heat.
