The scientific name for Mouse Tail Cactus is Rhipsalis horrida. Its long and densely stemmed spines resemble a mouse tail! The plant originates in Central South Africa, belongs to the family of Cactaceae, and can grow up to a height of 6 inches. The growth slows down in the winter season, making the plant winter dormant.

Growth Rate

While the plant grows fairly quickly, ensure that it is repotted every year once the growing season is over and the flowers have bloomed to their fullest.

Flowering

Be ready to see the growth of red, pink, and orange-colored flowers that are about 0.2 inches in diameter during the summer and spring seasons.

Watering and Feeding

Mouse tail cactus have little to no watering needs. All you need to take care of is that you water them sparingly from time to time. Every 2 to 4 weeks, feed them with a balanced and general-purpose fertilizer during their growing months.

Soil

You will be required to create a gritty and acidic soil mix. Use two parts peat moss and one part sand. Mix it with bark chips to promote drainage.

Hardiness

Rhipsalis horrida has a frost tolerance of anywhere between -3.9° C (25° F) to 10° C (50° F). The hardiness ranges from 9b to 11b.

Light

Even though Rhipsalis horrida needs partial sunlight for growth, make sure the number of hours that the plant is exposed to sunlight is ample.

Propagation

The most common way of propagation for Rhipsalos horrida is vegetative propagation. Propagation is also possible through division.

Now that you know that this plant is unseemingly long, you can try displaying it in a hanging basket in or around your favorite place at home.

Durable, Dogs love it
Color: Red
My Frenchie is a crazy chewer and can chew up a nylabone in a day, so I was looking for something that would last longer. So far this is holding up, and is pretty durable. Both my dogs like it a lot, it’s easy for them to grasp, and chewable but still very tough material. I suspect at some point it’ll wear down, but not for a while. The size was just as described / expected. Not too small and not too big

NOT FOR PLAYING CATCH.
Color: Blue
This toy is quite heavy, making it good for a chew toy or for fetch, but not for catch. It could very easily injure your dog as it damned near did mine.

Durable bone that you can add a spreadable treat to
Color: Blue
Our German Shepherd was 4 months old when we purchased this. She’s going to be 6 months soon. She has been teething really bad. We wanted some way to sooth her pain. This product was just what we needed. We put it in the freezer with some peanut butter in the center on both sides. Once frozen we give to our puppy. She loves it. When we open the freezer she recognizes the ziplock package that it was delivered in which we store it in our freezer. She jumps around until we give it to her. She loves it and it keeps her occupied for a while. It is very durable. I did not notice any smell when we received it. It does not make any noise. The plastic material is safe for animals. To clean I put in the dishwasher. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because sometimes the peanut butter gets stuck in it and may need to go through the dishwasher twice which is not a big deal. Or you can hand wash it. I found the dishwasher was best for us. You do not even have to put anything on it, but our pup likes it. I would recommend to others.
