So, when Rick and Gibson teamed up to create his signature Les Paul Special Double Cut, it had no choice but to be unique and special. The end result of the collaboration between the legendary brand and the industry icon is a LP Special Double Cut with a 1.5” thinner body and a killer TV Blue Mist finish. The thinner body offers weight reduction and more comfort for the player, whether sitting or standing. TV Blue Mist is a new color designed by Rick and Gibson that is perhaps a touch brighter than pelham blue. The satin nitro finish works with the instrument to allow maximum resonance while protecting the instrument.
Electronics are straightforward, 2 single coil, woody, P-90 pickups controlled by a 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle setup. A nickel Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece anchor the strings to the body, while up top they are channeled through a slick Graph Tech nut into Vintage Deluxe white button tuners.
The rounded neck profile is comfortable without being too thin. The 22-fret rosewood board features a 12” radius, acrylic dot inlays, and single ply binding for comfort and aesthetic. The double cutaway design allows for easy upper fret access.
Each Gibson Rick Beato Les Paul Special features a signature truss rod cover and ships with an Original Series hardshell case.
