FAQ A Level Physics:
What additional equipment do I need to bring to the exams?
For A Level Physics you may use a HB pencil for graphs and diagrams. You should also ensure that you have a ruler and an eraser. A protractor may be required so it is best to bring one of these. A basic scientific calculator which meets JCQ regulations is the best option for A Level Physics, if the calculator has any memory capacity this must be cleared before the exam and the calculator should have no formulae or other information on it.
Why is there an option that includes practicals?
As part of A Level Physics candidates are required to complete a practical endorsement to demonstrate their competence in the practical skills that are integral to Physics. We recognise that this is something that home-schooled students cannot complete themselves so have developed an exam board approved four day practical course to complete the practical endorsement. If you are entering A Level Physics you are expected to complete the practical endorsement.
Can I carry-forward the practical endorsement if I am resitting?
Yes, please select the ‘Practical Carry Forward’ option and ensure that you provide the UCI number that you used when you first took A Level Physics.
