The AD14ce's Grand Auditorium body shape is a hallmark of the American Dream Series, and now of Taylor's 50th Anniversary collection as well, which also features a Builder's Edition 814ce and a limited edition 314ce. Crafted in celebration of Taylor's 50th birthday, it features a solid walnut/spruce wood pairing, a hand-sprayed tobacco sunburst top, and distinctive firestripe pickguard.
This U.S.-made Taylor showcases a hand-sprayed tobacco sunburst top made of solid spruce, and a back and sides made of walnut. The body features comfy, chamfered edges, and the thin matte-finish body creates a unique visual statement and also allows the tone woods to breathe freely to deliver the classic sound associated with Tylor's instruments.
Constructed with a mahogany neck, the AD14ce-SB LTD features a unique smoked eucalyptus fretboard that complements its overall neo-vintage aesthetic. Italian acrylic dot inlays, gold Taylor tuning machines, and silver side dots contribute to the guitar's refined detailing, and a nut width of 1-3/4" and a scale length of 25-1/2" place emphasis on the functionality of this instrument beyond its aesthetic charm.
Like the rest of the 50th Anniversary Taylors, the AD14ce comes with an onboard Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics system and delivers a responsive and versatile acoustic tone when amplified. This ES2 system allows for control with Treble, Bass, Volume settings. Details that take this guitar home include its beautiful firestripe faux-tortoise pickguard that visually complements the golden glow at the center of the burst coloration, acrylic-dotted ebony bridge pins, and Taylor's gold tuning machines. A commemorative 50th Anniversary label further distinguishes this model, and an AeroCase ensures that this guitar s protected during travel.
