Description: Noted for its gorgeous midnight black foliage and long bloom season, this stunning variety of perennial hibiscus boasts extremely large, bright scarlet red-pink flowers with overlapping, ruffled petals that can grow up to 9 inches in diameter! From the middle of each bloom protrudes a central style covered delicately in fluffy ivory stamens with a terminal deep red stigma. The buds are abundant, with flowers covering the plant in late July all the way until the first frost. They bloom over stunning black foliage that is delicately cut into several leaflets, resembling those of a maple. Creates a stunning backdrop, or an eye-catching garden centerpiece. Deadhead spent flowers to maintain a neat appearance. Please note that this plant dies completely back in the winter, and is one of the last to emerge in the summer, oftentimes only becoming noticeable again in mid June.
