The Craft: Leather Flower on Zitan
A dark blue fabric flower with layered petals is attached to the top of a zitan wood stick. The flower has a slightly glossy texture and a small black leaf-shaped piece beside it. The central stamen-like elements are greenish-brown, adding contrast.
The wood base shows natural grain. The flower is fixed to the stick; the exact method of attachment is not visible but feels secure in hand.
The Zitan Wood
Zitan, also known as black sandalwood, is a dense hardwood native to Southeast Asia. It has been used in Chinese furniture and small carvings for centuries. The wood comes pre-treated with protective oil.
Color and grain vary naturally between pieces. Small hand-tool marks are not defects — they show the piece was made by hand.
Fit & Care
This stick works for all hair volumes. The rigid zitan shaft holds even thick hair without flexing. For very thick or heavy hair, consider a longer stick from our wooden hair sticks collection.
Care: Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking in water. Store away from direct heat.
