Inspired by the magnificent Mount Sajama, Bolivia's highest peak, Sayama captures not only the essence of this awe-inspiring landscape and the iconic llamas that roam its slopes, but it embodies the rich cultural heritage of the Aymara people, known for their deep spiritual connection to nature and sustainable practices.

By blending luxurious llama and highland wool together, we bring you a yarn that is perfectly balanced between lightness and sturdiness, without compromising on quality or comfort and that is especially tailored for Scandinavian-style knitting and multicolored designs.

Sayama's vibrant color palette mirrors the diverse hues of Mount Sajama, from lush greens to deep blues and vibrant wildflowers, each shade telling a story of the mountain's breathtaking landscapes.

Produced in Bolivia, at a factory nestled in the heart of La Paz, Sayama is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and ethical production practices. While llama wool doesn't yet have mass ecological certifications, we personally ensure the welfare of the animals involved in its production, guaranteeing both quality and ethical standards.

Care

 

We recommend hand washing Sayama knits in lukewarm water with a mild detergent for wool. Then dry flat, preferably on a terry towel, to avoid deformation. Please do not dry directly on a heat source or in the blazing sun!

All of the toys are still going 6+ months later, even with the strongest jawed pitty mix. Does get torn up at the ends but can easily be sanded down for a longer lasting toy, unlike some other hard toys with material not meant for sanding. The antler and ring seem to be favorites. The antler even has a divot so you can put soft treats in it or peanut butter and freeze it for a more interactive experience. Some came with a strong beef/liver smell but not overwhelming or off-putting. They are hefty without being too heavy, less likely to damage floors. Overall a good purchase
