Duff McKagan's tenure in the rock 'n' roll limelight goes back. Since the '80s, McKagan's basslines have driven some of rock's most fiery songs from Guns n' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" to Velvet Revolver's "Slither". For these performances, McKagan turned to a Fender Precision Bass loaded with both Seymour Duncan P Bass split-coil and J Bass single-coil pickups. Resulting in a highly percussive, thick, and expressive tone, McKagan's legacy with the bass lives on today with this signature Seymour Duncan set.
Today's Seymour Duncan Duff McKagan Signature PJ Set captures the authentic essence of his iconic tone. The pickup set in question includes a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack Jazz Bass bridge single-coil pickup and a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-Bass split-coil pickup to match. The pickups' large diameter alnico 5 magnets and high-output coils push everything about the usual P/J combo into exciting, new territories. Seamlessly harnessing the heat of McKagan's most famous recordings, these pickups go a step further to cut out unwanted hum or hiss for crystal-clear performances. McKagan's signature skull and crossbones logo is found emblazoned with this set for that added element of authenticity.
