A floral object crafted by a Kyoto Buddhist metal ornament artisan,
and a translucent ceramic lampshade created by a Kyo/Kiyomizu ware kiln.
The harmony of these two distinct materials and techniques gave birth to a small light named SO-U (“to think of” or “to connect”).
The flower, carved with the same traditional technique used for Buddhist ornaments, symbolizes prayer, remembrance, and gentle kindness.
Its LED light is soft rather than bright, wrapping the night in a calm glow.

This piece was created through the collaboration of artisans and designers,
produced by Takeda Senzo Shoten, a Kyoto-based materials trading company with over 130 years of history.
