For bass fanatics around the world, there is little explanation required for the excitement surrounding this Fender Custom Shop '60 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic in a creamy Shell Pink. Striking a sweet spot between a thunderous P Bass tone and a humble aesthetic, this Custom Shop piece is an infatuating instrument. This Precision Bass captures the essence of the Custom Shop as a workshop of master craftsmanship, producing pieces for any player to fall for.

This Fender Custom Shop '60 Precision Bass Journeyman Relic starts simply with a two-piece ash body, sorted for weight. The cut of ash used in this P Bass is finely sculpted in the classic double-cutaway Precision profile with smooth contours and a solid feel. Doubling as both a great sonic base from which to build a musical experience and a canvas on which to splash an iconic Custom Shop finish, this body works overtime. The Custom Shop's Journeyman Relic finish treatment meets with this Precision's Shell Pink color to present an instrument with an implied legacy of close care. Circumventing the deeper finish scrapes of more drastic Custom Shop Relic treatments, this Journeyman coat manifests with softer paint checking and a more weathered feel to the touch.

The ash used in this Custom Shop meets up with a quartersawn maple neck taking a 60 P-Bass Oval "C" profile, completing the basis of the instrument. With a sturdy yet comfortable grip in hand across its length, the Oval shape of the neck plays smoothly. This Custom Shop's quartersawn maple is paired with a flat lam 9mm AAA rosewood fingerboard adorned with twenty frets. These frets are formed with 6105 Narrow Tall fret wire, providing an articulate feel across the fingers. Outfitted with a compound radius measuring 7.25" - 9.5", this fingerboard plays with both a vintage and modern feel for players seeking the best of both worlds. Vintage Clay face and side dots punctuate the board and neck, respectively. This FCS bears a Large-style painted headstock with four Vintage Bass Nickel Relic tuning machines for solid intonation near the nut. Across its length, the neck measures .790" thick at its first fret and .990" at its twelfth.

A punchy P-Bass voice bumps from this Custom Shop through its sole split single-coil pickup. This hand-wound 62 P-Bass pickup thumps along with both a monstrous growl and tempered articulation. In a more classic move, this Precision Bass features pickup and bridge covers, reminiscent of some of Fender's earliest versions of this bass icon. A four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard adds some extra visual flair to top off the aesthetic sum. Deeper considerations from the Custom Shop luthiers that appear on this P-Bass include a P/J Bass bridge with a Relic hardware finish treatment and a bone nut measuring 1.750". This pink Precision travels in style with a Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass Tweed hardshell case.

Presenting a softer vintage look with some great materials and electronics, this Precision Bass is a classic Custom Shop piece. With it, fans of the P Bass have yet another example of great design to fall head over heels for.

A good retelling of the highlights from the Scarlet Letter
A good retelling of the highlights from the Scarlet Letter. The art provides a good visual for a kid to reflect on after having read the story. The art for Wilson is very telling as well; he looks like the lout I always saw him as.

Not new
Format: Hardcover
There was no indication the book was used and I had to spend $37 for it, which seems outrageous.

A mom's review: They read my mind
Format: Hardcover
I was putting together broad categories for how to instruct my family of boys on aspects of the civil war. Jonathan Fetter-Vorm and Ari Kelman read my mind. From captive blacks to reconstruction and the rise of the Klan terrorists, this book does it all. I don't need to instruct - this book paints vivid pictures for my kids to absorb, relate to, and build on according to their areas of interest. My other resources come into play, but this book is the Civil War overview I had been trying to create myself. Includes disease (malaria, gangrene) and Andersonville prison, suspension of habeus corpus and desertions, Mathew Brady's photographs, hunger on the homefront, desertions, the assassination of Lincoln, more. Marvellous. I can't say enough about the quality of the graphics and narration in the book. This is graphic history as it should be done. Bravo to the authors and publishers from not shying away from the cold truths. Lincoln's presidency was ambiguous on Constitutional questions. James K. Polk was a racist SOB, like most democrats. The KKK was/is the terror arm of the democrats. Great book for Junior High and up. I can't recommend it strongly enough. You probably need one for every child in your family, because they will not want to share. More books like this, please.
