It is heartwood with a small sliver of bark along one edge, and it has some beautiful spalting and mineralization features. The colors are the light golden orange of recently surfaced Bodark, with occasional lines of red brown spalt staining. With time, the traditional yellow orange Bodark colors will turn to a beautiful dark, golden brown

Bodark Block B-751 2.2" x 2.2" x 15.2" 2.9 lbs. This is a beautiful and hefty spindle of Texas-grown Bodark. It is heartwood with a small sliver of bark along one edge, and it has some beautiful spalting and mineralization features. The colors are the light golden-orange of recently-surfaced Bodark, with occasional lines of red-brown spalt staining. With time, the traditional yellow-orange Bodark colors will turn to a beautiful dark, golden brown with age and exposure to air and light. There a couple of tiny, hairline cracks. They appear to tip out very shortly into the block. You may choose to reinforce with CA glue. The bark edge has a bit of wane (missing wood) that will turn off as you bring the spindle to round. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried blank, meaning that it still retains some of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It was measured at 17% MC in September 2022. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. About the Tree This beautiful Bodark tree grew large and tall on the Katy Prairie in Brookshire, Texas. It spent it's 150+ years on the grounds of what became the Brookwood Community, a non-profit community for adults with disabilities (https://www.brookwoodcommunity.org/). The tree died at some point over the last few years, and they had to cut it down. They were kind enough to let us rescue it to give it continued life as lumber rather than let it turn into waste in a landfill or burn pile. And now it is yours, to turn into a beautiful piece of woodcraft. We would love to see what comes of this lumber. Please send us a photograph of your finished work, if you would be so kind. We would like to be able to share the photographs back with the Brookwood Community and its residents. |

Really impressed with this workout tank! The fit was spot-on — snug enough to stay in place during movement but not too tight. It didn’t ride up during my workout, which is always a win.
The material is soft, breathable, and wicked away sweat really well during both strength training and cardio. It honestly reminds me of the higher-end athletic tanks I’ve tried — same feel, but at a much better price point.
Definitely one of those pieces you’ll want in multiple colors!

Love these!!!

Super happy with these shorts!!! Wore them on a full day at the theme park. Stayed in place and did not ride up. No pinching or constricting. The material is buttery soft and the blue is so vibrant and pretty!! Don’t show every bump and imperfection, but does show some. It’s not totally smoothing. Very work out friendly, heat friendly, running errands friendly. Would definitely recommend and plan to buy other colors. Comfy waist band as well.

Excellent Work-out & Biking Short

I love these biker shorts. They have just the right amount of lycra and they are super soft. They are true to size, and they fit perfectly on my 5'2", 125-pound frame. I purchased them for use in bike riding, and I am very pleased with the fit and stretch. The inseam length is perfect for bike riding, and the legs don't ride up my thigh. The only con to all the pros is there isn't a phone pocket. I ride my bike around town, and I would have liked to have a pocket for my phone when going inside a store. These shorts are well worth the price. I purchased three different colors and love them all. I would definitely purchase this item again.
