The color is a warm brown that is rather, well, peachy! There is some spalting and bug assisted decay, but the wood has plenty of integrity. You may want to touch up with CA glue as you go. UFO Peach Block Ph-426 3" x 6" x 8" 2.5 lbs. This is a beautiful live-edge block of Texas-grown UFO Peach wood. It has gorgeous grain and hints of spalting. The color is a warm brown that is rather, well, peachy! There is some spalting and bug-assisted decay, but the wood has plenty of integrity. You may want to touch up with CA glue as you go. This wood was from a tree grown in Katy, Texas. It died during the Valentine's Day freeze of 2021. We cut and sealed it with Anchor Seal shortly after it died, then let it rest and spalt for about a year before processing it. We have very limited quantities of this unusual-to-Texas wood. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried bowl blank, meaning that it still retains a lot of its original moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed on all surfaces with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It has been heat-treated to eliminate any gnawing critters. It was measured at ~25% MC in May 2022. If you need a current moisture content, please message us and we'll check its status for you. Please scroll through the photos to see all of them, if you wish -- there are more than the 3 that first display on the page. This block does have a few cracks developing. You'll probably want to CA glue these prior to turning. |

Such a good price!

Love them! They are so cute, couple notes. The wood doesn’t come with pre drilled pilot holes for attaching the brackets so you will need a drill/drillbits. It is real wood which impressed me, but outside tools definitely required. Including a level!! The “level” they offer is indeed a bubble in liquid, but it’s about an inch long, 1/2in wide and a cylinder so probably the most useless, cutest level I’ve seen in my life. Otherwise great! They hold exactly what I need.
