As an early reformer in the south German town of Schwäbisch-Hall, Johannes Brenz exercised an enormous impact on the single-most powerful city in the Holy Roman Empire, Nuremberg. Later in life, he became the chief theological advisor to the dukes of Württemberg, influencing Christian worship and theology then as it still does today. Outliving Martin Luther, Philip Melanchthon, and their Wittenberg colleagues, Brenz continued to affect church life and shape the Reformation in German-speaking countries well into the 1560s.

James M. Estes is professor emeritus of history at the University of Toronto and distinguished senior fellow of the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies.

Afterword

Praise

"One of Brenz’s most important contributions to his age is the chief subject of this book: the relationship between local political authorities and the developing evangelical churches. The wealth of scholarship collected on the subject since the 1982 publication Christian Magistrate and State Church: The Reforming Career of Johannes Brenz warranted this new and updated edition." Timothy J. Wengert, The Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia

    My dogs love them
    Size: Large, Style: Peanut Butter
One of the few toys my pit bulls can't break. They absolutely love these toys and play chase with them. Usually, they can break toys in less than 5 minutes, but not these.

Good quality, not a bad price
    Size: Large, Style: Peanut Butter
Good value. It was cheaper to buy the pack of three instead of buying three separate. I wanted to try different shapes for the dogs. Honestly, they aren’t impressed, but it’s not due to a lack of quality of the product. It’s because they would rather shred Kleenex, eat dog poop, and steal chicken eggs.

My dogs love love love these
    Size: Large, Style: Peanut Butter
Repeat buyer here. I have Blue Heelers and Aussies so I have purchased many of the jumbo balls and we have loved them. I decided to gift this set to a friend. The pups ages range from 4 months-11 years and they adore these toys, even sleep with them! If you want to train your dogs to play with toys instead of your belongings, you can't go wrong with this peanut butter trio!
