Nye Johnson, a native of Kalgoorlie born in 1978, spent his formative years in Leonora and Wiluna, where his family originates. Raised by two talented artists, Nye's father, a skilled landscape painter, passed down his artistic flair, influencing Nye's artwork. His masterful paintings intricately capture the essence of the Wiluna landscape and its abundant Bush Tucker, reflecting his passion for vibrant colours and the exploration of diverse terrains.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Nye finds joy in playing basketball and AFL Footy. Family is significant for Nye, as he is one of four siblings and a father to six beloved children. Furthermore, he is fortunate to have a supportive partner who encourages his hobbies and passions.

About the Painting

Nye Johnston's paintings are poignant examples of a painting approach developed in the Carolup School, which emerged in Western Australia as a distinctive landscape tradition of painting created by school-aged Aboriginal children in the 1940s.

Its elements of romantic depiction of the bush and bush life may well reflect the needs of the child artists who were removed from their Aboriginal families under government policy. The tradition became a shared painting style as the young artists matured and painting techniques spread through family groups, creating a regional style in the wheat belt and southwest towns of Western Australia.

The drawings form an essential contribution and connection to Noongar history and Aboriginal art history. The scenes of hunting, corroborees, and the environment illustrate some of the last remaining memories of traditional cultural activities in the southwest.

Not chew proof but great for stimulating your dog!
Size: Large, Color: Octopus - Multi Color, Size: Large, Color: Octopus - Multi Color
8 legs gone in one night! Haha to be expected because my dog is a heavy chewer. Like other costumers we are left with a blue ball which she still plays with. It’s a great toy for days that my dog really needs to get energy out. She was so tired after, she was panting like she ran for miles. I suggest combining physical exercise with things like purposeful chewing or licking toys to tired them out. Doing this has reduced my dog’s anxiety tremendously over the years therefore reducing destruction of our furniture 😅 a tired pup is a happy pup!

It’s not for a big dog with large teeth
Size: Large, Color: Rabbit
The dogs Already chew its nose off Didn’t last 2 days. We are trying to sew it up. It will probably end up in the trash Thought this bunny is very cute. I’d only buy it for children to play with it. Or maybe a tiny dog.

Great despite mild defect!!!
Size: Large, Color: Octopus - Multi Color
this is a great toy for my pup! I love goDog toys because they last a long time for my destructive Aussie. This is my dog's favorite toy right now. He brings it to me constantly for a nice game of tug-o-war. It did rip within a month but the rips are staying intact thanks to the method goDog uses to put these toys together. I would not drop the rating for this, but I will admit the bottom cloth used to sew all the legs in tears easily. It is doing well after I sewed reinforcement into them but it would be nice if GoDog found a way to reinforce that piece to improve the toy.

Emotional support
Size: Large, Color: Octopus - Multi Color
Greatest toy ever! My dog is in love! This is like her emotional support toy. She sleeps with it and chews on it throughout the day. The only issue is the seams break open and the stuffing pops out after awhile. I just grab needle and thread and sew it back closed. Washes well too.
