KIEK 20 years of SplotterThe year 2017 marked the 20th birthday of Splotter as a company. We started in 1997 by going to the Essen games fair, not knowing what to expect. We had 20 handmade copies each of 3 simple games, in video boxes. We sold about half of them. Since then, we have come a long way! We wanted to celebrate this history somehow with our fans. We considered printing T shirts or making a book about our history, but we felt a game to be more appropriate! KIEK, 20
The year 2017 marked the 20th birthday of Splotter as a company. We started in 1997 by going to the Essen games fair, not knowing what to expect. We had 20 handmade copies each of 3 simple games, in video boxes. We sold about half of them. Since then, we have come a long way! We wanted to celebrate this history somehow with our fans. We considered printing T-shirts or making a book about our history, but we felt a game to be more appropriate!KIEK, 20 years of Splotter is a special anniversary edition of the game KIEK. Kiek was originally developed in 1997 and published in 1998. As a game, it is much, much simpler than what we design these days. We are republishing it as a fan edition to celebrate Splotter's 20th anniversary.
KIEK, 20 years of Splotter features pictures of our games, prototypes and prizes made by our long-time friend, game photographer Henk Rolleman; in addition, we have added a number of historical photo's from Splotter's past. Although it is playable as a game, it's mostly fun if you've been following Splotter for a while. As we feel this is more a fan item than a Splotter game, we have printed a very limited quantity only.
The game was announced as a special surprise at Essen 2017. And yes, the box has a flavour text:
The key turns slowly in the heavy door. The lady leading the way lowers her voice: "We are now about to enter the Splotter vault. It contains all the games they published in the past 20 years; those they didn't; prototypes, game pieces, demo games. Please be very careful, because everything is exactly where it needs to be.". The door opens, and it reveals.... "Joris!!!" (she is shouting now), "you promised to clean up all this old Splotter junk!". Everything is everywhere... can you help to sort out 20 years of Splotter history?
KIEK, 20 years of Splotter is a re-edition of a game we published in 1998 (the second year of Splotter). It is also a set of 60 pictures that celebrate our Splotter years, the people who make and made Splotter to what it is now, and of course, all of our games. Be aware that Kiek is a completely different type of game from the ones that we publish today: it is short and simple. We invite you to see it more as a Splotter memorabilium than as a Splotter game. Or, if you like our set of rules, use them with your own set of pictures!

The only plush toys that last for my girl!
These are awesome! I have a 4 year old doberman and she destroys most plush toys in a matter of minutes. These are the only ones that last and are worth the money! Even once she does pull the stuffing out, the shell of the toy is still mostly intact and she'll play with that for a long time as well!

Our doggies favorite toy
Color: Yellow, Color: Yellow
This is our 3 dog’s favorite toy! We’ve had it for over a year, it’s lived outside for a while, was buried, found, taken all around the house. This toy shows up in the most random places and is still in tack (for the most part). They fight over this toy. They also have the pig from the same brand and it’s still alive! Other toys are usually shredded in a few days.

Not a strong toy for chewers.
Color: Yellow
Not quite as strong as its description. My dog chewed off its foot within the first 10 minutes . I expected it to be stronger because it’s made of Kevlar material but it’s not that durable. Save your money it is far from being durable / indestructible.

Soccer ball just for dogs
Size: 6 Inch Diameter, Color: Ocean Blue
I could say "soccer", and our shoodle would wag her tail ready to play soccer with a tennis ball so I tried out this real soccer ball with her. Mostly, she just wants to wait for me to kick it, playing defense, so she can chase it like the tennis ball. After that she wants to usually bite it or roll over on top of it as a way to secure the ball, but sometimes she will have fun pushing it around with her nose or paws. She still prefers the frisbee for play time outside since the frisbee is good for catching and for playing tug-o-war, but this is a good alternative that always gets her wagging with excitement.
I wanted to get a regular 6" soccer ball for our shoodle, but this was a good choice for dogs for the durability and safety of the rubber material. The hexagons give the dog some grip to pick it up. The rubber is soft enough to grip and expel air when they do figure out how to grip it. The ball is designed to suck back in air when the dog releases the ball.
- Durable rubber material ideal for dogs
- Dog can squeeze out air to grip it
- Ball fills back up with air after air is squeezed out
- Can make more noise than a leather soccer ball
- Noise is still tolerable when used indoors
