For the fantastical, cheery, somber, spacious, and atmospheric, Walrus Audio swoops in with a pedal worthy of the literary and cinematic.

With every reverse reverb or reverse delay pedal out there, there is always a scene to be painted. The usual stomping ground of these delays covers the trippy and modulated, spacious and ethereal, or any combination of the reality-bending flavors of the week. The Lore paints a picture slightly more quaint with plenty of hazy and washed out reverberating goodness to go around. Shoegazers, grab your closest vintage fuzz.

Two analog feedback paths allow players to dial in a mix of affected and unaffected signals. Interacting with one another, these two paths organically produce reverberated echoes that are free-roaming, yet acutely adjustable.

Programs:

  • Reverse Delay into Reverse Reverb
    • Combine two reverse effects with naturally interacting feedback trails
  • Reverse Delay into Octave Up Reverb
    • Run a reverse delay into a "lighter" upward-inflected, shimmering octave reverb
  • Reverse Delay into Octave Down Reverb
    • Run a reverse delay into a "darker" downward-sloping, saturated octave reverb
  • Reverse Reverb into Forward Reverb
    • Run a reverse reverb into a natural forward reverb for comfortably smooth ambient pads
  • Pitch Delay into Pitch Delay
    • Dial in dual pitch delays for contrasting or complementary delay trails that compete or combine for a wealth of harmonic trail capabilities

Additional modulation and tap functions expand on the interactivity of Lore's reversed voices. Unique Dive and Rise functions implemented with the Tap footswitch push Lore even further into real-time soundscape shaping.

For all its fantastical elements and "in a land very far away" aesthetics, Walrus introduces a deeply interactive and powerful delay and reverb. Feel the sun rise and fall, the flowers wilt and bloom...you get the idea.

DEFINITELY go bowling!
Format: Hardcover
If you're like me (the husband of the woman whose card purchased this book, lol) and thought that Mike Mignola stepping away from drawing comic books was a crime against humanity, well, Bowling With Corpses is sweet, fun, dark redemption. Hands down the best thing he's ever done and the foundation for a new world and characters outside the Hellboy Universe. A craggy, crazy, shadowy, goofy mix of all the weird stuff I dug growing up: horror movies, Jack Kirby monster stories, Poe and pulp, Machen and Blackwood, myths, legends, and folklore, the Japanese ghost stories from Kwaidan. As Mignola himself says in his afterward regarding his semi-retirement, "The hell with this. I love drawing comics so I'll just keep drawing comics." Praise be to the Elder Gods for your decision, Mike—now get crackin' on your NEXT book!

This is Other Work, and Different
Format: Hardcover
It was recommended by a usually reliable source, but even with the amazing art this is some weird stuff, strange stories that are spooky and deathly depressive. Just paging through it, the style remains the same. Mike Mignola has done other work that I liked more immediately. There's humor in this book which might suit me better, so this isn't a bad review, just a little-bit at a time review.

Shades of fantasist history
Format: Kindle
This is a great collection of stories to introduce a new world and some of its characters. For Hellboy fans you will feel some echoes of those stories, but this different and more like a walk through the world of dark fairy tales threading to become connected in some future tale. The art is beautifully crafted, and i hope we will get to see more of this word and its stories. Thank you Mr. Mignola
