440 Years of History....INDEN created durable, functional designs for popular Samurai to use as decoration for war armor. Following the progression of Japanese trends, INDEN recognized a position in the women's fashion market for accessories which fit for kimonos. Japanese women began wearing beautiful designs, acknowledging INDEN's reputation as one of the most luxurious and stylish brands. Today, the timeless story of INDEN lives on.
- Handcrafted by Japanese artisans using traditional methods. Given its long history, each INDEN artisan possesses knowledge and skill passed down generation after generation.
- Proprietary lacquering technique involves the use of hand-cut stencils laid over dyed deerskin that is centuries old and was imperative to the look of the Samurai.
- Heavy pigments give each and every piece a deep hue. Known as the Fusube technique, this foundation which is created by setting deerskin on a cylindrical frame, which is then smoked to create their natural color.
