Discover the thought-provoking insights of ‘Sugar Daddy Capitalism’ by Peter Fleming, a brand new exploration into the dark side of modern economics. This compelling book, published by John Wiley & Sons in 2018, dives deep into the correlation between exploitative business practices and societal attitudes towards capitalism today. With 184 pages of keen analysis, Fleming critiques the troubling trends of the gig economy, the normalization of precarious employment through zero-hours contracts, and the semi-feudal management tactics that permeate workplaces. He cleverly juxtaposes the sleazy dynamics of high-profile incidents, like those surrounding unethical business figures, with the hollow ideals of neoclassical economics. 'Sugar Daddy Capitalism' not only highlights how the push for a leaner, less bureaucratic economy has led to increased exploitation but also serves as a warning about the moral degradation within our financial institutions. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in understanding the complexities of today's capitalism and the dark realities behind seemingly benign corporate practices. Ensure you grab your copy and uncover the uncomfortable truths about our economy today. Note: Shipping for this item is free. Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery. Description:
What is the connection between the sleaziness of Harvey Weinstein™s Âbusiness meetings™ and the passionless doctrine of neoclassical economics? In this witty and incisive examination of the new economy, Peter Fleming argues that they are closer than you might think. The quest to rid society of bureaucracy, shrink government and burn red tape has certainly made capitalism Âmore human™, but not in the family-friendly way envisaged by free-market gurus. Increasing informality has led to a capitalism fuelled by limitless exploitation and increasingly seedy methods of management, from semi-feudal workplace hazing rituals and predatory middle-managers with an axe to grind to arbitrary zero-hours contracts, Uber and, perhaps worst of all, the compulsory gym session with your boss. Fleming dubs this ÂSugar Daddy Capitalism™ after the controversial dating-app wealthy businessmen use to meet young girls, most of whom are struggling with university fees. What seems like a creepy outlier is actually a prescient metaphor for our whole economy: an anonymous and impersonal cash system that is also intent on getting under your skin, extra close and capable of ruining everything if you say ... Âno™.

Love this little remote caddy.
Color: Black, Color: Black
First, it's very nice and compact and sturdy. I would measure it before you purchase. I like that it's small. But if you have a lot you want to store, you may want to size up. It works perfectly in our house for to keep our essentials organized.

Nicely built!
Color: Beige
This caddy arrived as promised. I love that it is built very well, solid construction. I may order another for the bedroom. It holds remotes, phone, glasses, note pad, pen, with room for more!

So luxe
Color: Cream
I bought this not expecting a lot. I just wanted something to be able to carry my lotions from room to room in lol. I don’t like clutter and I like things to have a place so that’s all I was looking for and this was going to live in a cabinet when I wasn’t up and about around the house. This little caddy looks so luxe though! I just leave it on my coffee table sometimes and it doesn’t bother my soul lol… it would be a great remote holder. If you don’t mind them showing a little bit lol and I really think this would make a really nice bedside caddy which is partially that used. I was going forward with this would buy this again and again.

Good quality
Color: Beige
Really good quality, doesn't look like a cheap item, has a nice weight to it so it isn't falling over when it has multiple remotes and such in it. Nice to know where the remote "should" be for a change.
