About the song
This yarn is inspired by a somewhat older Eurovision entry, namely Run away by Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira. They were Moldova's entry in the 2010 Eurovision song contest. Now, what made Moldova's entry in the 2010 song contest so memorable that we decided to create a yarn set based on them? Three words: Epic sax guy.
To be fair, we love the entire performance and song. But the sax guy in blue pants and black-and-white-striped vest (Sergey Stepanov) really became a smash internet phenomenon with his fun-sounding sax solo and accompanying...eh, let's call it suggestive dance moves. In fact, "epic sax guy" became an internet meme and the song has since been featured in various video games, among other things.
A fun side note is that the Sunstroke Project was again selected to represent Moldova for the 2017 Eurovision song contest, and finished third with a somewhat more mature performance.
