Heavily distressed painting throughout in creamy blue gray tones showing some wood. Stamped 'Chaleyssin' and the number '39054' for the Lyon cabinet maker Maison Chaleyssin. The buffet is highly decorated with extensive moulding, acanthus details, and loads of scroll work. Short carved cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes on pegs support the gracefully contoured and carved apron.
