This Maton traditional features a custom European Spruce top, which brings richness, punch, and complex overtones with lots of headroom. Not as stiff as Adirondack, European Spruce is a bit stiffer than Sitka Spruce offering a great amount of power for flatpicking but allows for comfortable fingerstyle playing as well, with mid-tones that you don't have to fight to pull out of the guitar, even with bare fingers. Granadillo provides powerful treble and a dry punchy low end! perfect for recording and leaving tons of mid range emptiness for vocals or any other lead instruments.
The AP5 Pro features Separate Microphone and Piezo input controls allow for blending of both microphone and piezo levels prior to sending the actively combined signals through to the tone circuits and master volume.
Highly selective cardioid microphone system allows for much greater microphone level before feedback in live environments. This newly upgraded microphone is direct mounted to the preamp casing via an adjustable arm, which permits easy final tweaking of microphone position to suit the individual artists style.
