It is maple-like in appearance, with the sapwood a tan color and the heartwood a slightly darker tan to peach color. This piece has a lot of color variation and character throughout. The wood is fully air-dried with moisture content under 10%. This piece has an open crack with bark inclusion that you should reinforce with CA glue prior to turning. There's a bit of bark and wane along one edge, and the opposing face is flattened off round a bit. This will turn into a beautiful bowl. |
