Zhik Hiking X Boot

Primary Use Case: High-performance dinghy racing & aggressive hiking.
Key Technologies: Michelin "Fibrelite" Outsole, ZhikGrip™ II, 3D Knitted Sock.
Fit Profile: Close, adaptive, "barefoot" feel.

Product Overview

The Zhik Hiking X Boot is a performance-driven sailing boot engineered for dinghy sailors who require maximum connection with their boat. It balances a lightweight, "barefoot" sensation with the structural durability required for high-load manoeuvres. The design focuses on maximizing hiking efficiency while maintaining agility on wet, fast-moving decks.

Key Technologies & Construction

1. Upper Construction & Fit

  • 3D Knitted Stretch Sock: The core of the boot features a lightweight ribbed sock that provides a close, adaptive fit. This ensures natural foot movement and precise feedback from the boat.
  • Barefoot Feel: Despite the structural support, the design prioritizes sensory feedback, essential for balance during aggressive sailing.
  • Secure Closure: Features a low-profile Velcro® ankle strap with an anti-slip channel and a webbing heel loop for easy entry and a locked-in fit.

2. Grip & Hiking Performance

  • ZhikGrip™ II: A bonded and stitched top panel specifically designed to maximise friction against hiking straps and the deck edge. This locks the sailor in during full-power hiking.
  • High-Grip Sole: The underfoot design offers confidence-inspiring traction tailored for wet surfaces.

3. Michelin Outsole Technology

Zhik has partnered with Michelin to create a next-level outsole using "Fibrelite" technology.

  • Composition: Rubber with internally laminated fabric.
  • Benefits: This combination significantly improves tear strength and resistance while keeping the boot lightweight and flexible.
  • Durability: Built with cold-cemented construction to withstand repeated seasons of hard use.

4. Protection & Drainage

  • Impact Defense: Includes stitched reinforcement around the toe box and a durable rubber-coated heel panel.
  • Abrasion Resistance: A high-walled outsole design protects the foot from lateral abrasion.
  • Water Management: Integrated drainage ports allow for rapid water release, preventing heavy feet during intense racing.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: 3D Knitted Stretch Sock, Rubber, Reinforced Fabric.
  • Sole Tech: Michelin® Outsole with "Fibrelite."
  • Hiking Grip: ZhikGrip™ II (Bonded & Stitched).
  • Reinforcement: Toe box stitching, Rubber-coated heel, High-walled outsole.
  • Construction Method: Cold-cemented.

Zhik Hiking X Carbon Insole

Overview

The Zhik Hiking X Carbon Insole is a high-performance sailing footwear upgrade designed to optimize energy transfer and reduce fatigue. It serves as a dynamic interface between the sailor’s body and the boat, specifically engineered to convert leg drive into boat speed without compromising mobility.

Core Technology: Carbitex® M3 Monoflex

This product solves the trade-off between boot stiffness and walking mobility using Carbitex® M3 Monoflex technology.

  • Dynamic Response: The carbon matrix acts as a "smart" platform.
  • Walking Mode: When walking or launching, the insole flexes naturally with the stride.
  • Hiking Mode: When legs are extended for hiking, the material locks rigid.
  • Result: Effort is transferred directly to the hull rather than being absorbed by a soft shoe sole.

Performance Benefits

  • Fatigue Reduction: By stabilising the foot and eliminating pressure spikes, the insole drastically reduces strain on the lower legs.
  • Endurance: Allows sailors to hike harder for longer periods and recover faster between races.
  • Customization: Features built-in cutting guides for a quick, custom trim to fit specific boot sizes.

Key Features

  • Carbitex® M3 Monoflex technology for directional flex and stiffness
  • Ultra-lightweight design
  • Super-strong carbon fibre construction
  • Flexible in one direction for walking and manoeuvring
  • Stiff in the opposite direction for maximum hiking support
  • Helps reduce muscle fatigue and support injury prevention
  • Cutting guides for a customisable, precise fit

It runs a short period of time then stops with error codes.
Color: Piano Black
My husband had openings heart surgery his hospital stay was 9 days. During those 9 days, his only joy was the ice that the hospital had. So he asked me to order a machine that made that small crushed balls of ice. So I ordered this one. It arrived nicely packaged. It made wonderful ice. I only used water that was filtered with very good filters. Shortly after running it, I got an E1 error code. So I reported to the manual. There was no code listing for exact issues. So I chose to clean it ( whi h I thought was premature but had to try something). I followed the instructions on cleaning. It started to work again. Worked for another short wile then got the same code. I cleaned it 3x to find the same error code. So I returned it and was awarded a full refund.

Perfect Little Nugget Ice!
Color: Piano Black, Color: Piano Black
I'm not one to usually do reviews, but I really love this little countertop ice maker. I was spoiled when I had an icemaker in my fridge at our previous house. This Countertop Ice Maker Machine is AMAZING and I'm so thankful for it! The size and shape of the ice is just right. It's super! The little nuggets are just the right size. They are not too hard. The ice becomes light and chewy. It's like I was eating ice skittles, lol. So simple to use. Fast too! I believe I can get a full tray (about 5-6 scoops) in less than an hour, maybe 45 minutes? I guess it makes some noise, it's not loud enough to bother me one way or the other. One button does it all - one quick tap to make ice and one short push to clean the machine. Simple to clean, cycle takes 15 minutes, dump the water (pull to edge of counter and open plug on bottom, let drain in small jug or bowl. Then, rinse, repeat twice and let air dry overnight and it's ready to go and go and go again the next day. It really feels sturdy and solid. I'm thinking if the inside is built as good as the outside this will last a long time. I've been seeing Typhur products more often and I know they are a quality brand name.

Built for people who love nugget ice!
Color: Piano Black
If you love nugget ice, this machine delivers exactly what you’re hoping for - soft, chewable, restaurant-quality pellet ice at home, consistently and quickly. The biggest differentiator is speed and volume. It produces up to 35 lbs per day, and the first batch is ready fast. The ice texture is true crushed pebble/nugget style - not hard cubes disguised as “pellet” ice. It’s ideal for iced coffee, sparkling water, cocktails, and entertaining. The stainless steel exterior feels premium and modern on the countertop. Noise level is typical for a countertop ice maker, noticeable but not disruptive. It’s not silent, but it’s absolutely reasonable for the output.

Short life span
Color: Piano Black
We really liked this ice maker. The good-the water reservoir and ice basket are larger than in our last one, so we only refilled this one maybe once a day (family of 4). The ice didn't build up on the side and trigger the ice maker full shut off like our previous one. It is quieter than our last one too, and seemed to make ice just as fast. The bad-it doesn't turn itself back on as the ice melts and refills the water reservoir. The really bad-we've only used distilled and RO water in it. We've been fighting with it for a couple of months now to get it to make ice. We've cleaned it over and over with the cleaning solution. We also cleaned the vents as suggested with a vacuum and compressed air. It's to the point that it literally makes 2 ice cubes every time we start it, and that's it. We bought it 6 months, and we're giving up on it. We'll try another brand.
