For those struggling to find an original vintage Stingray bass, the Retro 70s Stingray 4 emerges as the perfect solution. With features like the original-style three-bolt neck joint, chrome battery cover, muting system, and the pre-Ernie Ball logo, it not only looks the part but plays it exceptionally well.
This Stingray is built upon an ash body finished in high-gloss polyester, while the maple neck sports a "D" profile, 7.5" maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, 21 nickel silver frets, a slight yellow tint, and a high gloss polyester finish - all reminiscent of the classic Stingrays. The headstock features Schaller open gear tuners, accompanied by the original Music Man Stingray logo.
Equipped with the original two-band active preamp with volume, bass, and treble controls, it houses a single vintage-style alnico humbucking pickup with extended alnico 5 magnets, wound with original single poly-nylon wire.
From the factory, it comes fitted with Ernie Ball Super Slinky Bass roundwound strings in gauges .045w, .065w, .085w, .100w, and includes a Mono soft shell case.
