The MK II continues Empress Effects' legacy of innovation, delivering exceptional transparency and flexibility.
The Empress Compressor MK II stands out with its comprehensive feature set, typically found only in top-tier studio gear. It includes independent attack and release controls, allowing precise tailoring of the compression characteristics. The mix knob enables parallel compression, blending the uncompressed and compressed signals for that perfect New York-style punch.
This pedal offers three compression ratios—2:1, 4:1, and 10:1—giving you the versatility to handle any musical style. The metering system, which separately displays gain reduction and input levels, provides clear and immediate feedback. The new "tilt" tone EQ control, centered at 500Hz, allows you to fine-tune your sound effortlessly.
One of the standout features is the selectable sidechain high pass filter, built into the compressor's detection circuit. This means you can toggle the high pass filter off or set it to 120 or 240Hz, tailoring the compression to your needs without additional external gear. The sidechain send/return 3.5mm TRS jack further expands your creative possibilities.
True bypass ensures that when the Empress Compressor MK II is disengaged, your signal remains unaffected. Additionally, the pedal's true display LEDs keep you informed about the compressor's status with bright, multi-color indicators.
