Manufacturer Description

ICON Vehicle Dynamics 2023-2024 GMC Canyon AT4, Denali, & Elevation/Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss suspension systems are designed with maximum performance and the serious driver in mind. ICON engineers’ primary focus is to increase wheel travel and damping ability, which translates into outstanding vehicle control and ride quality both on and off-road. This Stage 5 system includes vehicle-specific tuned 2.5" coilover shocks featuring CDCV equipped remote reservoirs for exceptional cooling properties and ICON-engineered coil springs for superior vehicle “feel" through the range of travel. These coilovers, specifically designed for the wider track width of GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss, are also height adjustable for 1.75-2.5" of front lift over stock, allowing the use of larger, more aggressive wheel and tire combinations. Their extended travel length improves performance by increasing front wheel travel by 20% over stock, for a total of 10.25", from full compression to full extension. Billet aluminum Delta Joint PRO upper control arms not only add strength and durability but help retain factory alignment specs, offer on-vehicle caster/camber adjustment, and the Delta Joint PROs' increased range of motion allows the fitment of the extended travel coilovers and the increased wheel travel this system provides. ICON 2.5 Aluminum Series CDCV piggyback reservoir rear shocks utilize a vehicle-specific valving and offer increased damping and heat dissipation, balancing the performance of the truck from front to rear. The included ICON CDC Valves are externally adjustable valves that restrict oil flow into the reservoir which creates 10 levels of compression damping force ranges. The ICON Vehicle Dynamics 2023-2024 GMC Canyon AT4, Denali, & Elevation/Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss Stage 5 suspension system is an excellent choice for those drivers looking to enhance the capabilities of their pickup on the road as well as in the dirt. This system features upper control arms with ICON's patented Delta Joint PRO. Delta Joint PRO is ICON's innovative new suspension articulation joint which combines the durability and longevity of factory style ball joints with performance and strength that exceeds traditional motorsports-style ball joints. The Delta Joint PRO features a new rebuildable, serviceable design in which any component may be removed, inspected, and replaced without having to purchase a whole new joint. Strength and durability are improved by using a larger ball with 56% more bearing surface than our standard Delta Joint, along with improved lubrication sealing. But improved performance is at the heart of the Delta Joint PRO, with a full 90 degrees of articulation, from one extreme to the other. This represents a 14% improvement in range of motion, over the highly capable original Delta Joint, allowing for maximum bind-free suspension movement through the complete range of travel. The Delta Joint PRO is built to take the abuse, with a chromoly ball and shaft that has a bearing surface hardened to Rockwell C 55. The replaceable races are made of graphite-impregnated sintered metal, machined to the finest tolerance to provide a flawless, metal-to-metal bearing interface. We also redesigned the lubrication system, with lubricant channels that distribute grease more efficiently without extending past the bearing seal.

Somewhat niche but a treasure-trove nonetheless!
Format: Paperback
A somewhat niche topic but a small treasure-trove of a book nonetheless! Definitely something I would recommend to anyone thinking seriously about and planning on studying mission. More than just a descriptive history book, the various essays focus on what can be drawn and learned from particular figures and movements. I picked the book because I knew next to nothing about 16th century missions (and not very much about Protestant or Roman Catholic missions in general) and thought it would be good to fill in some of my knowledge gaps. I was not disappointed! There are essays on people I never even heard of before, and now wish I could know so much more! Who knew there was a Czech theologian (Jan Hus) who wrote a devotional for women in the early 1400s? I certainly didn’t. Also, the very first essay I found to be a healthy challenge to Gustav Warnack’s conceptualization of mission (that ...“it must be a systematic work, preferable by an institution outside the church that consistently sends missionaries to previously unevangelized areas.” (p.12)) and his critique of early Reformation missional work (namely that there was none). Plus, while I had heard that Calvin had sent some missionaries to Brazil, I never knew there was so much drama with Villegagnon behind it all! The whole ordeal and everything leading up to it sounds like it would make for pretty crazy reality show or a great movie. The book touches on missions to a variety of locations, Kongo, China, Brazil, Latin America, and Europe itself, and is especially helpful in understanding the origins and philosophies of Reformed, Anabaptist, Jesuit, and Franciscan missiologies. It also gives light to the many complexities of mission work, dealing with politics, economy, culture, competing religion, and language barriers. Not all of the essays are created equal but I definitely got something from each one. Also, as a small disclaimer, the book may be a bit more of a laborious read for some. It deals with a great many events, places, and names that may be unfamiliar to someone not studied in Christian missional work (like myself). But working through such things can yield some ripe fruit. Being a collection of essays around a particular topic, it is a great book to pick up and set down again, not requiring large chunks of time to work through. In fact, it may be better read in several small intervals, one chapter per sitting, to properly digest each essays significance. I received this book for free from Lexham Press in exchange for an honest review, whether negative or positive. The views of this expressed in this review are entirely my own.
