The Tamiya 1/24 Mazda Savanna RX-7 recreates the first-generation RX-7, a car that quickly earned legendary status after its debut in the late 1970s. Introduced in 1978, the Savanna RX-7 featured sleek, aerodynamic styling with a low nose, retractable headlights, and a lightweight monocoque body that set it apart from its contemporaries.

Powered by a smooth and compact two-rotor rotary engine producing up to 130 horsepower, the RX-7 utilised a front midship layout that delivered excellent weight distribution and outstanding handling. A 1980 update further refined the model, with the SE Limited offering increased luxury alongside weight reduction and improved efficiency. These innovations helped cement the RX-7’s reputation and sparked a worldwide following for Mazda’s rotary-powered sports cars.

This re-issue kit updates the original 1981 release with revised moulding colours, refreshed decals, new packaging, and added masking stickers for window painting, while preserving the charm and detail of the classic kit.
