Bausch & Lomb stopped manufacturing it when they turned their focus to making optical equipment during WWII. The microscope has a horseshoe shaped base and is marked with patent numbers. The slide holders are present and the microscope is fully functional. The range of magnification is achieved through a draw tube. Incrementally, as the tube is lengthened, the magnification can go from 75X - 300X. It stands 6.75 inches tall. The case is walnut. It has a aged brass handle, hinges and side closure. The front of the case is marked Bausch & Lomb Model R Microscope. Inside, the microscope fits snugly. 8 slides are present, The microscope has been well taken care of and protected by the box. The case shows some signs of wear.
