Answer: For this purpose, you need to line up the dots to unlock icon, then you should be able to pull or twist apart the spring.

Question 3: How the device actually works on the chin? Does it tighten the underlying skin or reduce the double chin?

Answer: Perhaps it tightens the underlying skin around your chin if you use the device for hours in a day. As far as my experienced is concerned; this device does nothing for a double chin problem.
