With contributors including Justin Barton, Angus Carlyle, Kodwo Eshun, Steve Goodman, Robin Mackay, Paul Nataraj, and Iain Sinclair, Sonic Faction presents extended lines of thought prompted by two Urbanomic events which explored the ways in which sound and voice can produce new sensory terrains and provoke speculative thought.
Three recent pieces provide the catalyst for a discussion of the potential of the "audio essay" as medium and method, a machine for intensifying listening and unsettling the boundaries between existing forms: documentary, music, ambient sound, audiobook, field recording, radio play….
Kode9’s Astro-Darien (2022) is a sonic fiction about simulation, presenting an alternative history of the Scottish Space Programme, haunted by the ghosts of the British Empire. Justin Barton and Mark Fisher’s On Vanishing Land (2006) is a dreamlike account of a coastal walk that expands into questions of modernity, capitalism, fiction, and the micropolitics of escape. Robin Mackay’s By the North Sea (2021) is a meditation on time, disappearance, and loss as heard through the fictions of Lovecraft, Ccru, and the spectre of Dunwich, the city that vanished beneath the waves.
Alongside photographic documentation of the events and edited transcripts of the artists’ discussions, Sonic Faction brings together contributors with diverse perspectives to address the question of the audio essay and to imagine its future.

Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
The best product I have found for cleansing my make up off. I have rosacea and I find this to be so gentle on my face.

A foaming cleanser that doesn't dry out my skin!
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I have very dry, reactive skin and initially looked past this face wash because it is foaming which is usually a no-go for my skin. I am pleasantly surprised with how well my skin tolerated this product. No dryness or irritation and my face felt clean. I also love that it is fragrance free because fragrances seem to really irritate my skin and who needs to smell their face wash? I am happy to say this is another great product from Avene!

Gentle cleanser for dry and sensitive skin.
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser, Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I have dry and sensitive skin, and this cleanser has worked very well for me. It is very gentle on the skin and has not caused any irritation.
The texture is light and foamy, it spreads easily across the face and rinses off without leaving any residue. After using it, my skin feels clean, soft, and comfortable, without any tightness.
The size is quite large, which I find great because it lasts a long time with daily use.
Overall, a simple but very pleasant cleanser for sensitive skin.

Gentle Yet Effective—Perfect for Redness and Sensitive Skin
I’ve been really impressed with this Anua Azelaic Acid serum—it’s one of those products that feels gentle but still delivers noticeable results. The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly, leaving no sticky or heavy feeling behind, which makes it easy to layer with the rest of my skincare.
What stands out most is how soothing it is. The 10% azelaic acid helps calm redness and irritation while still being mild enough for sensitive skin. Combined with multiple types of hyaluronic acid, it keeps my skin hydrated and balanced instead of dry or tight.
Over time, I noticed my skin tone looking more even and less inflamed, especially in areas prone to breakouts or redness. It’s a great option if you want something that targets multiple concerns—like texture, redness, and hydration—without being too harsh.
Overall, this is a fantastic serum for anyone dealing with sensitive or reactive skin. It’s effective, easy to use, and feels like a high-quality addition to a daily routine. I’ll definitely keep repurchasing.

Totally worth it!!
So I have combination skin with a tendency toward closed comedones and I decided to try this product because I heard that azelaic acid helps with closed comedones. Honestly, I didn’t have very high expectations because my closed comedones have been very stubborn. I was already using the COSRX BHA before introducing this product, but it worked very slowly, so I wasn’t really getting the results I wanted from that product alone. Let me tell you that once I introduced this product, I finally started seeing the results I was looking for. I have noticed that my closed comedones have been resolving way faster than when I was only using the BHA and my skin also feels softer and overall looks healthier. I also want to mention that even though I don’t get inflamed breakouts very often, when I do get one, I feel like this product helps it calm down and go away much faster. I did start incorporating it slowly, and I highly recommend that anyone who wants to start using this product do the same and not rush into using it every day right away. Despite that, I personally haven’t had any issues with irritation at all and I actually find it very soothing, but you always need to be careful when adding new actives to your routine. I am currently using this product 4-5 days a week, once a day, and on the days I do not use it, I use my BHA instead. I also find that this product lasts a long time, since you only need like five drops for the entire face and the consistency is very watery. I’ve been using it for around two months, and there is still plenty left. Overall, I really recommend this product because it has helped me a lot, and while I am not sure if this alone would be enough to treat closed comedones, I would definitely say it is a great complement to other treatments.
