La réparation du cuir peut parfois être filigrane. L’utilisation d’outils de précision facilite le travail.

Les différents types d’outils :

• Les longues spatules sont parfaites pour lisser les matériaux de remplissage, pour positionner le tissu de renfort derrière une réparation ou pour mélanger les petites quantités de matériaux de remplissage ou de coloration.
• Les spatules courtes sont parfaites pour modéliser les bords des passepoils, des coutures et autres travaux filigranes.
• Les têtes sphériques des spatules sont idéales pour presser les bosses, les fibres de cuir et les petits bords de fissures relevés et pour modéliser.
• La spatule crochet est parfaite pour tirer sur le cuir déformé (creux, bosse) et le remettre en position par thermoformage (choc thermique) ou pour positionner les détails au bon endroit pendant les travaux minutieux.
