This detailed reissue of the '65 Non-Reverse Firebird stays true to the original 1965 model, featuring a comfortable one-piece neck with a wider 1 11/16-inch width for improved playability compared to the vintage design.
The single-cutaway Firebird body is crafted from mahogany, delivering a resonant foundation for the instrument’s warm, rich tones. The Aqua Mist VOS finish, inspired by Gibson’s classic 1959 Oldsmobile color chart, gives the guitar a touch of vintage flair with a beautiful, aged look.
The mahogany neck features a traditional 1960s SlimTaper C profile and is topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard inlaid with classic nitrocellulose Dot markers. Twenty-two frets are installed using Gibson’s Plek technology, and the Corian nut measures at 1.687 inches.
A pair of Firebird pickups equipped with Alnico 5 magnets are stocked in this Firebird Reissue, delivering the perfect blend of sparkle, jangle, and chime that 12-string enthusiasts love, combined with the raw grit of a Firebird. The controls consist of two volume knobs, two tone knobs, 500k CTS potentiometers, bumble bee capacitors, and a hand-wired harness.
The VOS Aqua Mist Gibson Custom Shop finish of this instrument emulates that of a guitar that's finish just like the original. This guitar comes with an included Gibson Custom Shop hard case.
